Frida is made of muslin, stuffed with fiberfill, and painted with high quality acrylics. Her head, body and limbs are independent pieces stitched together.
Her clothing was entirely hand sewn, stitched permanently to her body. Frida wears a long black skirt, and a white Huipil (blouse) embroidered at the base of the neck with a red braid. This is the traditional outfit from Yalalag, Oaxaca, one of her favorites.
Her hair is made of needle felted wood, and permanently braided in the traditional Tehuana Style. Frida is able to stand by herself. She stands 3” tall. Frida is signed and dated in the back.
