Joffray Gallery Presents “Between Heaven & Earth”: A Retrospective of Paintings by Margarita Maxson

OLD LYME, CT – The Joffray Gallery at Saint Ann’s Parish is proud to announce the presentation of “Between Heaven & Earth,” a landmark exhibition celebrating 20 years of exceptional paintings by renowned artist Margarita Maxson. The comprehensive exhibition runs from May 1st through August 30th, with a special public Opening Reception and Artist Talk scheduled for Sunday, June 14th, from 11:45 AM to 2:00 PM.
“Between Heaven & Earth” offers a captivating journey through two decades of Maxson’s evolving creative vision. Known for her rich color palettes, intricate cultural symbolism, and deeply evocative subject matter, Maxson’s work bridges traditional themes with a distinctively contemporary magical realism.
The highly anticipated Opening Reception on June 14th provides a rare opportunity for art collectors, community members, and visitors to engage directly with the artist. Beginning at 11:45 AM, immediately following Sunday services at Saint Ann’s Parish, the reception will feature an intimate Artist Talk. During this presentation, Margarita Maxson will discuss her creative processes, the inspirations behind her two-decade body of work, and the rich iconography of nature that populates her canvas.
