WATERFORD, CT – September 22, 2026 — In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, I am partnering with the Waterford Public Library to host an interactive axolotl puppet workshop at the Waterford Library. The special event will take place on Tuesday, September 29th, starting at 5:00pm and concluding at 6:30 PM in the library’s Meeting Room.
This hands-on program invites children and teens, recommended for ages 8 and up, to explore their creativity and celebrate culture through art. During the session, each participant will get to choose their own axolotl and personalize it. Through guided, step-by-step instruction, attendees will also be learning some basic design and hand stitching techniques to construct and decorate their unique creations.
Due to the individualized attention required for this craft, there are only 12 spaces available (only 3 left at the moment of this writing!). This community enrichment program is completely free to the public, made possible by generous funding provided by the Katherine Forest Crafts Foundation.
Families are encouraged to sign up early before the limited spots are filled. Parents and guardians can register online or at the Children’s desk.
