Announcing “Quiet Thunder”: A New Art Exhibition Celebrating the Power and Resilience of the American Bison

Old Lyme, Connecticut – October 1 to November 30

I am proud to announce the upcoming opening of Quiet Thunder, a new exhibition of my original works capturing the enduring spirit of American wildlife.

Quiet Thunder serves as my visual homage to the strength, resilience, and beauty of the bison. Through rich, earthy palettes and heavy, textured brushstrokes, this series presents these monumental creatures as undeniable proof of nature’s power. The exhibition features a meticulously curated selection of works, including ten intimate small-scale paintings measuring under 7 inches, one expansive 45 x 35-inch centerpiece canvas, and a unique assemblage piece. I designed this dynamic range of scale to mirror the subject matter itself—inviting viewers to experience both the imposing physical weight of the herd and the quiet, individual presence of each animal.

In this collection, I explore the bison across a variety of seasons and environments. Several pieces highlight the thick, woolly coats of the animals against sweeping, snow-dusted plains, while others place them in warm, arid grasslands. Throughout the series, I focus on capturing both the intimate, solitary gaze of individual bison and the unspoken, kinetic bond of the herd in motion.
